The Minister of Development and Investment, Adonis Georgiadis, characterized the reluctance of the Banks to approve loans to small enterprises, whose investment plans are approved by the development law, as incomprehensible, answering a topical question of the Member of Parliament Konstantinos Allas.
"I will have a special meeting with the representatives of the Banks for this purpose", Mr. Georgiadis promised, pointing out, however, that institutionally he cannot intervene and impose by law, obligations to the Banks.
The Minister stressed that he encourages the Banks to approve such loans for the investment programs approved by the development law, as the money is fully guaranteed by the Greek state.
However, Mr. Georgiadis stressed that if necessary, through the Development Bank, we will design a new tool specifically targeted for this purpose. "You have my word that we will investigate it," he told Mr. Konstantinopoulos.
