With the kind permission of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the new facilities of the Museum of Modern Greek Culture, the Bath of the Winds and the space at Panos 19, the 17th Athens Digital Arts Festival, "Tāctus", opens its doors to the public.
This year's event selects for implementation the Historic Center of Athens, the wider area of Monastiraki and Plaka.
ADAF invites us, from October 13-17 to guide you in this historic neighborhood, through the ultimate Digital Art experience.
An entire building block will host works of all categories by Greek and international artists: Video Art, Animation, Digital Image, Web Art, Installations, Virtual Reality, Games, Augmented Reality, Performances, Workshops, Talks, ADAF Kids and Festivals of The World.
A few words about the venues of this year's event:
Courtesy of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Main Building of the Museum of Modern Greek Culture (MNEP), the Bath of the Winds, the Tzisdaraki Mosque and the venues at Panos 19 and Klados 9, will be the focus of the Festival.
The restoration of the 18 buildings, an entire neighborhood of Athens as it was designed in the late 19th - early 20th century, are the new roof of MNEP, the only Public Museum that deals with the modern Greek cultural heritage in its material and intangible aspects.
ADAF is organized in co-organization with the Municipality of Athens and the Sports, Culture and Youth Organization of the Municipality of Athens (OPANDA), with actions in public places as well as Open Air Screenings on Areos and Kladou streets in Plaka.
Another venue of the festival will be the Clock of Andronikos Kyrristos in the Roman Agora of Athens, courtesy of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Athens.
Our favorite ADAF Kids, a digital art festival dedicated to children and parents, returns even more enhanced to entertain and educate our little friends.
In the Bath of the Winds, will be hosted works that stood out for their theme and relate to the meaning of the Other, as they emerged through this year's theme "Tāctus."
A 3D Mapping Projection Show will take place in front of the Tzistarakis Mosque and Open Air Screenings will take place at the junction of Areos and Kladou streets.
Performances will take place in the courtyard of the Museum and the building at 19 Panos Street and its open space (the former hangout of the School of Fine Arts) will be revived with special events.
The research project AI TRACE (Synaesthetic Engagement of Artificial Intelligence with Digital Arts and its Audience) is collaborating with ADAF and will be in a specially designed space to explore the public's relationship with Digital Arts.
