The return to lifelong learning brings an increase in the demand but also in the prices of rents for real estate intended for student housing.
This is what the Athenians point out, in a relevant report of Athens 9.84, determining this increase for Athens at a rate of 20%. For example, as they typically say, in Athens the cost for a studio now reaches up to 600 euros (furnished), with the fire areas remaining in Kallithea, Neos Kosmos, Pagrati, Zografou, Ilisia and Exarchia. The same image is presented near Panteion, in Neos Kosmos and Koukaki.
The same is true near the University of West Attica, in municipalities such as Egaleo and Chaidari. "Generally, where there is a university near, there are high real estate prices due to the demand from students", note some characteristics. "The simply unfurnished decent apartments near the campus of Zografou are very expensive. For studios of 25 and 30 square meters, the owners ask for 300-350 euros, while for a slightly larger apartment, say 40 sq.m., we go to 400 euros and above. And to all this, utilities, electricity, heating should be added ", some emphasize, commenting on the prices in the student housing.
Parents who spent their children in the province characterize the student rents in Patras, Chania and Thessaloniki as particularly stingy. "I paid 350 euros for a 30 sq.m. studio in Chania that is semi-furnished," said speaking in Athens 9.84 a parent whose child went to the Technical University of Crete.
Market participants note, however, that in many parts of the country, prices for student housing compared to last year remained stable, such as in Ioannina, Chios, Kastoria, Volos, Komotini, Tripoli, Corfu and Rhodes.
