The Russian Sputnik-V vaccine against coronavirus ranks second among vaccines as the number of emergency approvals issued by the regulatory authorities in various countries. This is stated in a post made by the producers of the vaccine on Twitter.
"The Russian Sputnik-V vaccine is currently the second most popular vaccine in the world in terms of the number of approvals from the relevant regulatory authorities," the statement said.
The first place according to this ranking criterion is held by the vaccine of the Swedish-British pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca and the third by the vaccine of the American company Pfizer.
The prestigious medical journal The Lancet in early February published the results of clinical trials of the third phase of the Russian Sputnik-V vaccine, which confirmed the great effectiveness and safety of the vaccine. The effectiveness of the vaccine is 91,6%, while among volunteers over the age of 60 it is 91,8%. Coronavirus antibodies after vaccination with the Sputnik-V vaccine were detected in 98% of the volunteers.
