The Kremlin announced today that it is aware by the media of Navalny's serious health condition, that the doctors are doing what is necessary and wishes him a speedy recovery, as is the case with every Russian citizen.
"Doctors are doing what is necessary at the moment, the best doctors are working in Omsk," said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peshkov, adding that "it goes without saying that, like every citizen of our country, we wish him a speedy recovery."
Peshkov assured that if there is a request to the Kremlin or the Ministry of Health with a request to assist in transporting Navalny to a foreign hospital, the authorities will consider it immediately.
Referring to the possibility of Alexei Navalny being poisoned, Peshkov said that "at the moment the results of the tests have not been released, so all the cases remain hypotheses, as to whether it was poisoning." The Kremlin spokesman also said that in case it turns out that it was poisoning, then there will be a corresponding investigation by the competent authorities.
Asked if the Kremlin considered the Navalny incident special because of its critical attitude towards the country's leadership, Peshkov said "the current government has a lot of critics" and among Russian citizens. "Undoubtedly, when someone threatens the life of a Russian citizen, that is something serious. "Both doctors and police authorities treat all citizens equally seriously," Peshkov concluded.
