The death toll from a new coronavirus pandemic in Israel topped 8.000 on Monday.
The Ministry of Health announced that in the past 24 hours 11 patients with COVID-19 succumbed and 1.209 cases of SARS-CoV-2 were diagnosed. The death toll rose to 8.010 out of a total of 1.317.650 infections.
However, the indicators indicate a de-escalation of the health crisis. The number of so-called active cases decreased to 17.536. The number of patients with COVID-19 treated in a severe to critical condition decreased to 357 (–23 in 24 hours).
Since the start of the immunization campaign in Israel in December 2020, more than 6,2 million people in the country - 66% of the population - have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, almost 5,7 million second and above from 3,8 million third, supportive, always according to the figures of the Ministry of Health.
