Narrated by Salt of the legendary rap band Salt-N-Pepa, the tribute includes an original rendition of MC Lyte's idol in music by the hit producer WondaGurl. Capturing the role of women in the birth and development of hip-hop, the show will include interviews with pioneers such as MC Sha-Rock and Roxanne Shanté, as well as current superstars such as Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion and City Girls, taking viewers on a journey through time highlighting the personal struggles and triumphs they have experienced in their careers.

With Queen Latifah, Monie Love, Da Brat, Lauryn Hill Missy Elliott, Eve, Trina, Nicki Minaj and other pivotal figures who have paved the way for women in the rap industry, "Real Queens of Hip-Hop" marks the ongoing ABC culture exploration, mentioned by Mary Nelson, Senior Vice President of Integrated Content Strategy at ABC News.
