For more than 3 hours, the mountaineering team of the 7th EMAK was looking for firefighters from Fthiotida, a pair of English tourists who "disappeared" on the mountain above Kamena Vourla. The search started at 5:30 in the afternoon when they informed "112", while they were constantly in touch with the people they were looking for.
Shortly after 9:00 pm the 2 teams of the 7th EMAK were able to approach them in a steep mountainous area as the two of them were trapped in rocks and could not move.
It took more than half an hour for the firefighters to be able to lead them safely from the rocky spot on the path. As mentioned they are in good health.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time that tourists who are in Kamena Vourla lose their orientation when they are in the mountains. However, most of the trails in this area are marked and visitors have the opportunity to be led to a safe place.
