Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis sent a message to Turkey that the only way to delimit maritime zones is a common framework of rules, namely International Law and the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, during his speech at the 76th UN General Assembly.

Mr. Mitsotakis pointed out that Greece always seeks open channels of communication and cooperation with Turkey, but the tension of the summer of 2020, when Ankara increased the tensions for no reason and proceeded to challenges, should not be repeated.

At the same time, he noted that Turkey should understand that aggression undermines the margins for regional security and stability and makes Turkey's relationship with Europe much more complicated.

Mr. Mitsotakis also referred to the pandemic, noting that "if these events taught us anything, it is that hope is born from cooperation." He emphasized that Europe had taken the lead on many fronts, including vaccine donations to non-EU countries, and agreed on a Recovery Fund, as well as the development of a European Digital Certificate.

Referring to the other big challenge concerning the climate, Mr. Mitsotakis stressed that "we are no longer talking about climate change, the issue is to deal with an acute climate crisis."

Earlier, the Prime Minister met with the Archbishop of America Elpidoforos at the UN offices in New York.

Immediately after the meeting, a top government source said that "the issue is over" and added that "what matters is the unity of Hellenism, Greece's inseparable relationship with the Archdiocese of America and the Archdiocese's close relations with its flock."

It is recalled that the presence of the American Archbishop Elpidoforos at the inauguration of the "Turkish Center" in New York, which took place in the presence of Tayyip Erdogan and the Turkish Cypriot leader of the pseudo-state, Ersin Tatar, provoked reactions.

Mr. Mitsotakis also met with the CEO of Pfizer, Albert Bourlas.

Alexis Tsipras was described as a prisoner of ideology by the government spokesman Giannis Oikonomou, on the occasion of the statements of the president of SYRIZA during his meeting with the presidency of GENOP PPC where he expressed his categorical opposition to the sudden increase of Me.

"Which PPC do we want? The crucial question, regarding PPC's plan, is whether we want Mr. Fotopoulos and his time PPC or a modern company, which will raise funds to ensure that consumers, individuals and companies, will pay cheaper electricity, stressed the government spokesman.

Earlier, the leader of the official opposition harshly criticized the government and personally Kyriakos Mitsotakis, saying characteristically. "Citizens will pay for the marble with the electricity bills" and he spoke about the assignment of 17% of PPC.

The sentences for the perpetrators of a series of heinous crimes, such as premeditated murder, gang rape and rape of a minor, are being tightened, based on the changes in the new Penal Code presented by the leadership of the Ministry of Justice.

At the same time, the proposed changes extend the statute of limitations for sexual crimes against minors, who now have the right to claim the perpetrator's punishment after they reach adulthood, while increasing the time of actual imprisonment in prisons.

I welcome the bold amendments to our Penal Codes, which are being consulted. "Our legal arsenal is being renewed and our legal system is being reformed," the prime minister wrote on Twitter, among other things.
