Tomorrow, Friday, September 24, 2021, the National Technical University of Athens, for the eighth consecutive year, connects with the European Researchers' Night at an Associated Event and organizes the Researcher's Night. This year the focus is on research actions to address the challenges of climate change and environmental degradation under the European Green Agreement on Sustainable Development with Social Cohesion. Relevant post events are planned.
Each year, more than two million visitors to 30 countries in more than 400 European cities participate in the Researcher's Night, "a European Commission initiative to familiarize the public with the world of research," according to a statement.
The Researcher's Night at NTUA will start on the morning of Friday, September 24, 2021 with the Inaugural Event at the historic Averoff building of the Polytechnic complex in Patission with a physical presence with a limited number of participants and will be broadcast live.
The achievements of more than 300 research teams will be presented in live streaming through representative three-minute videos for the needs of the Researcher's Night at NTUA.
The events of the Researcher Night at NTUA 2021 will be broadcast from the website of the Night www.ntua.gr/ntuaren, from the channel of the Researcher Night at NTUA www.youtube.com/ntuaren from 8 am to Friday night September 24, 2021 in two parallel broadcasts, as well as from the channel of Researchers Night Greece www.youtube.com/user/rengreece from 8:00 in the morning until 13:00. As every year, there will be a Digital Participation Painting Competition on "The Challenge of Climate Change and Our Response" for Primary School Students and a Poster Competition on "The Challenge and Opportunity of the European Green Agreement" for High School Students and Lyceums. The entries will be submitted in corresponding forms on the website of the NTUA Researcher Night www.ntua.gr/ntuaren.
There will also be an established Instagram Photo Contest with the theme "Green Deal Boost" with the hashtag #ntuaren.
The NTUA Researcher's Night "aims at the future: in the passage of research in society, in the creation of jobs of highly qualified scientific staff, in the support of the entrepreneurship of young people, as well as start-ups in the real economy, of particular importance today in view of "the country is recovering from the health, environmental and economic crisis", the announcement points out.
The works will be announced by the rector of the NTUA, Andreas Boudouvis and the Minister of Development and Investment, Adonis Georgiadis. The rector of the Universities of Athens, the Deputy Minister of Research and Technology, Christos Dimas, the Secretary General of Research and Innovation, Professor Athanasios Kyriazis, and representatives of the co-organizers will address greetings.
