Northern Greece is on alert, with coronavirus cases on the rise, raising alarm in both the government and the scientific staff.
The Minister of Health, Thanos Plevris, and the Deputy Minister, Mina Gaga, are going to Thessaloniki today. Given the increase in the epidemiological burden in areas of Northern Greece, they will hold meetings with the governors of the Health Regions and the Hospitals, as well as with the governors and mayors of Central and Western Macedonia, regarding the pandemic indices recorded in Greece. , the percentage of vaccinations and the actions taken for its further increase, as well as for the readiness of the health structures.
In particular, the program is formulated as follows:
09:30: Meeting at EKAB Northern Greece with the commanders of the 3rd and 4th RAE and the commanders of the Hospitals.
11:00: Meeting with the Deputy Regional Head of the Regional Unit of Thessaloniki, Voula Patoulidou, the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Konstantinos Zervas, and the mayors of Central Macedonia.
12:30: Meeting with the first councilor Iakovos Athanassiou at the Holy Diocese of Thessaloniki.
15:00: Meeting with the regional governor of Western Macedonia Georgios Kasapidis, the thematic deputy regional governors and the mayors of the region.
In addition, at 14:00 the Deputy Minister of Health, Mina Gaga, will have a meeting with the Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of Northern Greece, at the offices of the Health Region.
