In the center of the city below Zappeion, Souri Street, formerly called Kipou -from the adjacent National Garden- connects Amalias Avenue with Filellinon Street. At the junction of Souri and Amalia is the six-storey building of the Bodossakis Public Benefit Foundation, which is considered the best work of the architect Andreas Ploumistos. At the other end, at its contribution to Filellinon, we find in Rallos Manou square, the Russian Church, dedicated to the Holy Trinity, of Byzantine architecture and the sculpture in honor of the unknown artist. In recent years, the Ralli Gallery, opposite the square, houses a restaurant that offers shelter in the heart of the city. The street is named after the satirical poet Georgios Souris, born in Syros.
