During his visit to the area, Pavlos Christidis met with the Mayor of Mantoudi - Limni - Agia Anna, George Tsapourniotis and the Harbor Master of Edipsos Baths, Captain Sotirios Danikas.
Answering a journalist question, Pavlos Christidis stressed:
"We came to express our practical support, our support to the people who are going through tragic moments for the ninth day. And indeed the picture is dramatic - it is a picture that shocks us all.
Therefore, the government must immediately stand by them. We are talking about thousands of people who have lost their jobs. We are talking about hundreds of people who have lost their homes and property. This is something that should sound an immediate alarm.
Promises and many words are not enough. Actions are needed immediately. That is exactly why we called for the opening of Parliament next week, to make the parliamentary process work and to support the people who are really in need. A special plan is needed, with funds from the Recovery Fund for the region and its people. "
