From Tuesday to Sunday and from 10.00 in the morning until 5.00 in the afternoon his guests Industrial Gas Museum have the opportunity to enjoy a personalized tour. Borrow the interactive yellow backpack, which offers all the necessary instructions for touring the museum through maps, stickers, memory games, board games, coloring cards and puzzles that guide children in a fun way to get in touch with our industrial heritage. .

"Essentially our visitors, young and old, discover for themselves in an alternative way the gas plant its history, its operation and the gas production line", he will tell Athens 9.84, the museum educator of the Argyro Batsi Museum. "The interactive yellow backpack is designed in two versions and is addressed to families with children 4-6 years and 7-11 years. Families can borrow it from the Industrial Gas Museum Shop or the Technopolis Outpost, leaving its identity, and return it there after completing its journey to the museum. "Some of what is included in the backpack is non-refundable and children can keep it as a souvenir."

On Sunday, June 13, young and old will have the opportunity to learn all the secrets of the interactive journey from the people of the museum, who will be in the museum spaces from 11.30 to 13.30 to welcome and guide visitors.

The response of the children

"Children and parents really like the action, we have received very positive comments," notes Ms. Batsi, recounting a recent incident with a little 9-year-old visitor.

"When we opened in May, a family came who took part in the action again in September, bringing with them a friendly family. The girl about 9 years old enthusiastically conveyed to her friend all the information about the inventors of the factory, about the gas production line, she remembered almost the entire museum route. That was the best assessment of this action we could ever take. " he stressedMs. Batsi adding that "the element of revisiting and passing on information by word of mouth is very important for any museum activity".

The two interactive backpacks

The backpack for younger ages focuses to discover information through the senses and interaction, following the original sensory path of the museum and the yellow boxes. The children will touch the coke and feel the heat inside the ovens, they will hear the sound of coal shoveling and the shift bell calling the workers for work, they will smell the three characteristic smells of the Gazi area that prevailed before for almost 100 years!

For older children, the interactive backpack focuses to the hidden machines and rare inventions hidden inside the old gas factory! Through an incredible map of inventions, children will discover the most important inventions of the factory, the inventors behind them as well as the countries of origin of these unique machines that take us to the era of the Industrial Revolution in Greece!
