As of today, May 14, the museums of the whole country are reopening safely, for all visitors, Greeks and foreigners. In the morning, the Minister of Culture and Sports Lina Mendoni visited three museums, the Museum of the Ancient Agora, the National Gallery-Museum of Alexandros Soutsos and the Archaeological Museum of Piraeus.
At the renovated National Gallery, which today opened its gates to the public for the first time since 2012, the Minister of Culture and Sports Lina Mendoni talked to visitors.
As stated by Lina Mendoni:
"We are very happy for the opening of the National Gallery. Athens finally acquires a Gallery equal to and worthy of the history of modern Greek art, from 1830 onwards. And that is why we are very proud. Despite the fact that today is a working day, there are many visitors who are already at the Gallery, observing absolutely all the measures. People express their love for the National Gallery in various ways. The museums all over Greece reopened today in an exemplary way and in all the museums there was attendance. In some, in fact, the first visitors were from abroad. "
Refreshment bars (depending on the restaurant) will operate with protection measures, as well as shops (depending on the commercial stores) by the Organization for the Management and Development of Cultural Resources. The Ministry of Culture and Sports ensures the smooth reintegration of cultural activities into the daily lives of citizens.
