Adapted to the signs of the times and to the restrictive measures to reduce the spread of the coronavirus, the municipalities of Attica celebrated the Resurrection. "Christ is Risen" may have been heard earlier than usual, but this did not deprive him of the joy, nor the mental uplift, nor the brilliance of the moment.
After all, the whole Holy Week moved in these special conditions. With the churches operating with a limited number of believers and most to experience and share the Divine Drama and its culmination from their home, while the night of the Resurrection found most people on its balconies and the celebration of the day of Lambra, their more in their own home and not in the homes of relatives and friends, not even outside Attica.
At the time of the Resurrection in all the municipalities of Attica the fireworks tore the sky, giving a festive tone to the moment and the vast majority of citizens enjoyed the spectacle from their balconies and courtyards. All the mayors sent their own message to their citizens along with their Easter wishes and referred to the hope shared by the vaccination, that this restricted Easter of the pandemic will not be repeated.
The municipalities all these days tried to fill any gap imposed by the pandemic, as far as this would be possible. Most of them broadcast daily and online the Divine Sequences of the Holy Temples of their city, through a special platform of their official website, they did the same with the Resurrection, they took care of the people who experience this pandemic in isolation, such as the elderly, the vulnerable groups, etc., distributed through their Social Grocery the "Easter meals" to needy families and those who can not financially or for health reasons to meet their basic needs, while several municipalities created baskets with candle, cookies and chocolate egg for children. In many municipalities these "Easter meals" are offered with volunteers even on Easter day.
