The educational program of the Municipality of Athens "The child, the city and the monuments" Organizes photo contest on the platform Instagram for the students of the schools of the Municipality of Athens. In order to cultivate respect for public space and monuments but also to get in touch with teenagers through different communication channels, we mobilize students to get out of their teenage rooms, to listen to their city again and to express themselves creatively. , capturing snapshots of the city-small tiles, in photos.
The program invites students to show us how they see Athens and to photograph their favorite places. Is it a park? A square? A road? A corner where they are with their friends? A bench or a statue? A point of view that makes them stop every time? A graffiti that makes them dream? An old neoclassical?
Teenagers are encouraged to look carefully at their city and all its corners and spontaneously turn their attention to the places that bind them to it. Answering the question "What is your part of Athens?"Or photographically, they share with us their own city, as they see and experience it through their daily lives, cultivating at the same time their relationship with the public space and the monuments.

The winners of the competition will be announced in May, as part of the online celebration of the end of the program, which completes the activities of the program each year.
"The child, the city and the monuments" it is one educational program of the Municipality of Athens implemented by Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (Directorates of Primary and Secondary Education of the University of Athens) and with the active participation of the School of Fine Arts. The program runs through 4η consecutive year of its application. So far they have participated in it as a whole 51 schools, 451 teachers and 4.629 students. It aims to cultivate respect in public space, and especially the respect of the monuments, that is of memory of the city of Athens. With the slogan "Because the city is memory and culture" he strives to create active citizens (active citizens) who love and care for the city and its monuments, thus keeping its history alive. Participation in the program is completely free for the schools and teachers of Athens. Training seminars, lectures, conservatory visits to schools, help manuals, guided tours, books and travel are also provided to participants. His collaborations also include the Industrial Gas Museum, Monumenta (Company for the Protection of Natural and Architectural Heritage), the National Gallery and Sculpture Gallery and the Piraeus Group Cultural Foundation.
