Resurrection at 9 pm on Holy Saturday is proposed by the Permanent Holy Synod that met on Tuesday morning. The Metropolitans also suggest postponing all the Sequences of Holy Week by one hour earlier.
As it is emphasized in the announcement, in the next few days the Holy Synod will specify its proposals in a circular that will be sent to the Diocese and procedural issues are expected to be answered, such as e.g. how the Epitaph Procession will take place this year on Good Friday.
The representative of the Holy Synod, Metropolitan of Ilio Mr. Athenagoras, stressed that "the Church will transfer the time of the Holy Communions during the Holy and Holy Week, starting at 18:30, with the ratio of 1 person per 25 sq.m. and a maximum of 100 people ". Regarding the Resurrection ceremony, the Synod unanimously decided that it will be held at 9 pm on Holy Saturday in the courtyard of the Holy Temples, while it was decided to postpone the Sequences by half an hour earlier, at 6.30 pm. the evenings from Palm Sunday to Maundy Wednesday, Maundy Thursday at 5.30 p.m. and Good Friday at 6.00 p.m.
The announcement of the Permanent Holy Synod:
"The Permanent Holy Synod of the Church of Greece of the 164th Synodal Period, during its teleconference meeting, on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, was informed of all the actions of Her Beatitude, Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Holiness Synod mandate and authorize during the period from the last meeting until today, mainly regarding the operation of the Holy Temples during the Holy Week and the Easter period.
First of all, he expressed the joy for the fact that all the Holy Temples will remain open for the faithful in all the Holy Communions, according to what he requested from the Greek State.
On the issue of the schedule of the Holy Sequences of Holy Week, the Holy Synod, taking into account the current health conditions and the traffic ban, decided to postpone the Sequences by half an hour earlier, at 6.30 p.m. the evenings from Palm Sunday to Maundy Wednesday, Maundy Thursday at 5.30 p.m. and Good Friday at 6.00 p.m.
Regarding the Resurrection Sequence, the Holy Synod took seriously the current traffic restrictions and, wishing the best pastoral service to the faithful, who should not be deprived of the participation in the joy of the Resurrection, decided unanimously using it. Economy of the Church, as manifested in Her rich tradition, the adjustment of the time of the Resurrection ceremony at 9.00 p.m. of Holy Saturday. The Ceremony will take place in the courtyard of the Holy Temples, according to tradition, and will be followed by the Resurrection Divine Liturgy inside the Holy Temple.
With its Circular to the Holy Dioceses, which it will send in the coming days, the Holy Synod will specify the measures and the Formal to be followed.

As for the publicly expressed, theologically divergent, views of the clergy, the Holy Synod has already been duly engaged in both the previous and the present Session.
