Voluntary blood donation marathon is organized by the National Blood Donation Center (EKEA) in collaboration with STASY SA, in the multipurpose hall of Syntagma Metro, from Monday 8 to Friday 12 March, from 9:00 to 19:00, in order to meet the huge blood needs created by the pandemic.
Emergency measures and the spread of coronavirus have inevitably created problems in the flow of blood donors to hospital blood donation services, resulting in a large reduction in blood supplies, which has the tragic consequence of postponing or canceling several transfusions of patients, such as states, in a statement, the EKEA. It also invites any new or old blood donor to come to the multipurpose hall of the Syntagma Metro, sending message 1 to 13033 or filling in B1 in the "Certificate of exceptional movement of citizens" of the General Secretariat for Civil Protection.
All the necessary measures will be taken to carry out the blood donation: Thermometry at the entrance, provision of the necessary personal protective equipment (masks, gloves, antiseptic), sterilization of the blood donation chairs, keeping distance, telephone appointments in order to avoid contact.
For an appointment you can call 2132146716 and 2132146726, (from Monday 1/3 to Friday 5/3/21 and hours 9: 00-15: 00)
