The reasoning of the committee
According to the committee, Dragons was awarded "for his reflection on power relations in present-day Brazil, for his challenge to the political elites, economic structures and the power of the dominant images over time - a comprehensive, ingenious project and completely topical. "This award will make a difference and help us make our film a reality" said the director thanking the jury, which consisted of producer, distributor and sales agent Filippa Kovarski (Cinephil, Israel), director Marianna Oikonomou (Greece) and Michael Stitch, head of the Panorama section of the Berlin International Film Festival (Germany).
