Italy: 22.865 new cases, 339 deaths. Large increase in infections in Lombardy

In the last twenty-four hours in Italy 22.865 new cases of coronavirus were recorded and 339 people lost their lives. In total, 339.635 diagnostic tests were performed, 6,7% of which were positive.

The number of patients with covid 19 in the intensive care units of the country is 64 more than yesterday, and 394 more in the hospital wards. So far in Italy the first and second dose of the vaccine has been administered to 1.517.624 citizens, while a total of 4.841.993 vaccinations.

In terms of the areas with the most cases, in the first place is today Lombardy, with 5.174 infections. A number that is considered very high and was recorded, last time, at the end of last November.

At the same time, there is a large increase in infections in the Piedmont Region, with Turin as its capital. The daily cases are 2.167 and the percentage of positive diagnostic tests reached 12%.
