Intensive checks are carried out throughout the country by the Hellenic Police Services to implement measures to prevent and limit the spread of the coronavirus.

Yesterday, Saturday, February 6, 72.968 inspections were carried out throughout the country, of which 5.891 at the Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos".

A total of 2.168 violations were confirmed and 17 arrests were made, as follows:

1.683) infringements for restriction of movement and fines of the same amount of € 300 were imposed, as follows:

613 in Attica,
236 in Thessaloniki,
152 in Western Greece,
107 in Central Macedonia,
95 in Crete,
87 in Central Greece,
87 in Epirus,
71 in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace,
55 in Thessaly,
49 in the Peloponnese,
45 in the Ionian Islands,
33 in the North Aegean
27 in the South Aegean and
26 in Western Macedonia.
Since the entry into force of the measure (November 7, 2020), a total of 107.083 similar violations have been confirmed.

-389 violations for not using a mask, etc. related infringements and 378 fines of EUR 300 and 11 fines of EUR 150 were imposed, as follows:

71 in Attica,
43 in Crete,
36 in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace,
33 in Central Macedonia,
31 in Epirus,
24 in Western Greece,
23 in Thessaloniki,
22 in Central Greece,
21 in the Peloponnese,
21 in the North Aegean,
20 in the Ionian Islands,
19 in Western Macedonia,
14 in Thessaly and
11 in the South Aegean.
Since the implementation of the new measures (November 7, 2020), a total of 34.714 similar infringements have been confirmed and 33.122 administrative fines of 300 euros and 1.592 of 150 euros have been imposed.

-95 violations and 17 arrests for rules of operation of shops, private companies, etc. Violations of the relevant legislation (prohibition of operation, non-use of a mask, percentage of square meters per person, etc.).

In the above cases, the following sanctions were imposed for violation of suspension of operation, etc. related infringements of the relevant provisions, namely:

In Attica,

arrest and a fine of 3.000 euros to a club manager and a fine of 300 to 31 customers for violating a traffic restriction,
arrest of 4 employees of a brothel, imposition of a fine of 5.000 euros on the company and from 300 euros on them, as well as a fine of 300 on 3 customers for violation of traffic restriction,
arrest and a fine of 3.000 euros to a cafe owner and a fine of 300 to (2) customers for violating traffic restrictions,
arrest and a fine of 3.000 euros to a bar owner and
arrest and a fine of 3.000 euros to a grocery store manager, as well as the imposition of a 15-day suspension.

In Western Greece,

arrest of a cafe manager, imposition of a fine of 3.000 euros on him and 5.000 euros on the company and a fine of 300 on (3) customers, for violation of traffic restriction,
arrest of owner and temporary manager of a gym and imposition of a fine of 5.000 euros and 3.000 euros respectively and
arrest and a 5.000 euro fine to a steakhouse owner.
In the Peloponnese, 5.000 euros in a cafeteria for customers to stay inside the store and serve seated customers and a fine of 300 to (5) customers, for violation of traffic restrictions.

In Crete, 2 fines of 300 euros in an equal number of stores for not posting a sign of the maximum number of consumers allowed.

In Epirus, a fine of 300 euros in a retail store for not posting a sign of the maximum number of consumers allowed.

In addition to private gatherings and other related offenses:

In Attica,

arrest and a fine of 3.000 to a homeowner for organizing a private gathering and a fine of 300 euros to 11 participants for violating a traffic restriction and
arrest and a fine of 3.000 on a homeowner for organizing a private rally.
In Epirus, an arrest and 3.000 fines were imposed on a homeowner for organizing a private rally and imposing a fine of 300 euros on 17 participants for violating a traffic restriction.

In Central Macedonia, arrest and a fine of 3.000 euros to a warehouse owner for organizing a private rally and a fine of 300 euros to 4 participants for violating traffic restrictions.

In the remaining cases the fines related to violations of the relevant legislation (unnecessary movement, non-use of a mask, etc.)

Since the implementation of the new measures (November 7, 2020), a total of 1.803 similar violations have been confirmed and 1.079 people have been arrested.

Finally, 1 violation was confirmed for non-completion of the electronic form PLF (PassengerLocatorForm) by a traveler. Since the entry into force of the new measures (November 7, 2020), a total of 45 similar violations have been confirmed.

The inspections continue with undiminished intensity for the protection of public health.
