The payment of the heating allowance for approximately 700.000 households starts on Friday, in two time phases.
The allowance for this winter season will range from 80-650 euros per beneficiary depending on the cold temperatures prevailing in each region of the country but also based on the dependent children..in the first phase those beneficiaries will receive the allowance until the end of January made purchases of fuels such as heating oil, LPG, firewood and pellets until December 21st and in a second phase will be subsidized until March 31st those who purchased fuel from December 22nd to February 28th.
Finally, gas consumers will be subsidized until mid-April with the submission of the January and February bills.

An example:
In the region of Attica last year the amount of 106 euros was given as a heating allowance to a family with two minor children, regardless of the region in which she lived. This year, according to the individual calculation, if the same family lives in the settlement of Penteli in the Municipality of Penteli, where the altitude is higher and the heating needs are higher, they will receive a larger heating allowance, amounting to 181 euros. The same family if they live in the settlement of Vouliagmeni of the Municipality of Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni, where the climate is milder, will receive 83 euros. Finally, if he lives in the settlement of Athens, he will receive a heating allowance of 114 euros.
"In this way, the distribution of the heating allowance, which is not finite, is done in better terms of social justice and efficiency, two elements that are the key to the economic policy pursued," the Ministry of Finance said in a statement.
