Strike action against omnibus bill

Employees are protesting against the draft omnibus bill tabled in the Parliament’s plenum today.
Workers on Athens metro and tram lines have declared a 24-hour strike, while staff on the Piraeus-Kifissia electric railway have called a work stoppage from noon to 3 pm.

Buses and trolley buses run normally today, but their unions have declared a 24-hour strike the following Monday, as have the staff unions of the Piraeus-Kifissia electric railway line.

Moreover, state hospital doctors are holding a 24 hour strike today.

The EuroWorking group will convene again before the Eurogroup meeting scheduled to take place on January 22, where the course for the completion of the third bailout review will be discussed.
